Let me start out by saying everyone loves these. Anyone who has tried them as instantly asked me for the recipe or begged me for more. It’s easy too.
I made Oatmeal Raisins ones to start with and one day Amy came over and we made chocolate ones and her little 3 year old boy even helped!
1 3/4 cup Oats (I used regular oats and I used rolled organic quick oats whatever you want to use is fine)
1 cup rice cereal (Rice Krispies or off brand)
1/2 cup raisins or 1/2 cup chocolate chips (there is so many different ways you could make these lots Amy and I both would still like to try)
Mix your dry ingredients in a big bowl together. Now when doing chocolate chips we added it in before putting in the hot mixture and they melted so if you want whole chocolate chips I suggest putting them in last.
1/2 stick of butter (I almost always use unsalted)
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
Heat these up on a stove stir them together, once it starts to broil give it about 2 minutes then turn stove off and mix in with your dry ingredients. I’m not going to lie it can be a little challenging to stir and more of an adult job. Once it’s all mixed together. It will be slightly hot still but grab a spoon and I placed mine in muffin pan and Pampered Chef Brownie Pan. But I’m sure putting in a pan and letting cool then cutting in granola like strips would work also.
Let it cool for about 30-45 minutes and then place in little bags or wrap them up and you have an easy healthy breakfast or snack!
They are very yummy! Enjoy!
